I have recently returned from a short visit to Thailand and had several meetings and discussions regarding our future plans.
Two key points came out of these meetings:
1. The key to volunteer EMS success in our area is COLLABORATION
This would entail a selected number of foundations coming together to work in a collaborative partnership, sharing resources, training as one team and a number of other changes which will overall improve our combined response to 1669 calls, our skill-set and the level of clinical skills we have to put in place.
2. There is an overwhelming interest in a partnership or association with St John Ambulance
The benefits to this are numerous and this is being carried forward as a topic to be discussed further by Chris in London. Updates will follow as to IF and HOW this could happen.
