Khonkaen EMS (KKEMS)

Further to my trip to Thailand, plans are now underway to establish a commercial Ambulance Service, based in Khonkaen.

Based in Khonkaen City it is proposed that this service will offer:

    Inter-Hospital high dependency transfers
    Pre-booked hospital admissions and discharges
Repatriation / Insurance land-ambulance transfers to Udon Thani and Bangkok International Airports
Specialist services for the ex-pat community requiring Engish speaking ambulance crew

Using custom built ambulances, conforming to all safety standards with ALS equipment onboard, these vehicles will represent the pinnacle of Ambulances in Thailand. All driving staff will have undertaken an externally verified advanced driving course and the ambulances will have automatic transmissions, resulting in greatly improved road handling and a much more comfortable journey for the patient and their family.

Our staff will ALL be EMIT trained and registered with a significant range of additional externally verified clinical skills meaning that we will provide the utmost in clinical care.

Operating initially in KK City, we plan over time to expand to key, strategic points across the province, ensuring a wide coverage and quick response times.

KKEMS will be actively supporting a number of Foundations within the province ensuring that the volunteer response to 1669 calls is sustained, developed and supported.

We will be working in partnership with a number of external stakeholders who will oversee Clinical Governance, Business Management and other key business areas which will be announced in due course.

Our employees will be entirely Thai nationals or residents ensuring that we meet our Social and Community objectives. Initially, we will give preference in employment to qualified EMT-B and EMT-I candidates, however, we will support training and development of interested applicants who do not have the required skills at the time of application. ALL staff will receive training in basic English as part of their initial training and our telephones will always have someone who is conversant in English available to take calls and respond to queries from the substantial ex-pat community in Khonkaen.

As we grow and expand our service, preference will always be given to suitably qualified candidates from the local community.

Our start date is proposed for 2020. If you are interested in finding out more, please leave a comment below and we will get back to you.
